How do I explain pantheism to my religious parents without it sounding like I have joined a cult?

I am going home for the holidays. My parents know I stopped going to church. They do not know I now describe myself as a pantheist, and I would like to tell them in a way that does not end with my mother crying or my father googling "pantheism cult." Has anyone done this well? What worked?
